Tiffany Lu, newly named music director of the Monteux School and Music Festival.

Tiffany Lu has been appointed music director of the Monteux School and Music Festival in Hancock, Maine. Lu is the fourth music director in the organization’s history, and previously served as an associate conductor at the Monteux School for five seasons. She recently completed her first year as director of orchestral activities at the University of Florida. During the 2022-2023 season, she made guest appearances with Symphony New Hampshire and the Elgin (IL) Symphony Orchestra and was director of the Sewanee Symphony Orchestra at Sewanee University from 2020 to 2022. Upcoming engagements include appearances with the Cumberland Symphony Orchestra at the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, as well as guest clinician with the 2023 New York All-State Orchestra. Previous roles include assistant conductor with the Prince Georges’ Philharmonic, music director of the Wilmington Community Orchestra, and positions with Washington, D.C.’s Capital City Symphony. Lu is active as an orchestral violinist, chamber music collaborator, and private violin teacher. Her doctoral research focused on new models in the orchestral education of undergraduate string players.
